Vito is a former Naval Aviator and retired US Navy Captain, H-53 Pilot and Mine Counter-measures Mission Commander with over 3,000 flight hours and over 30 years of experience in aviation, defense programs and military service; including squadron command and two major shore commands.
After 27½ years, Vito retired from the US Navy in October of 2006, and joined Northrop Grumman (NGC) in Melbourne, FL as a Business Area Director – later retiring in March of 2020 after 13 years with Northrop Grumman.
Vito holds Bachelor of Science and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degrees. He is a former Navy Federal Executive Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), and a graduate of the Duke University Executive Management Program. He has attended numerous executive courses at various academic and military institutions including the University of Chicago, Columbia University and others.
